Love God. Love Others. Serve the World.

Jesus revolutionized everything.  Before Him you could only smell what was cooking.  Now, we can enjoy the whole meal.  So, what is the recipe for life?  How does God want us to live?  Jesus was once asked what the most important commandment was.  To this Jesus replied, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind."  Love God.  Second He said, "Love others as well as you love yourself." Love Others.  Later Jesus instructs the disciples to take His message throughout the world, serving by giving more than expected and demonstrating God’s love to people in word and in action.  Serve the World.  This is the life that Jesus wants us to taste and see.  He has promised that from these few ingredients that our lives can be infused with the most flavor.  Sometimes the best recipes are the least complicated.


LOVE GOD
Loving God is discovering the Father and the Son and accepting and returning love freely. Our love is developed in the following ways:

  • Begin a relationship with God by attending services
  • Accept the gift of salvation – acknowledge to Jesus Christ that He is the son of God who died on the cross for your sins, asking Him to enter your life (heart) and enter into God’s family with eternal life in Heaven.
  • Baptism –A public celebration of your acceptance of the gift of Jesus and the symbolic washing away of the sins by water.
  • Membership Class – As a united community we are committed to one another, to our church leadership and our walk with God.
  • FAQ Track – We all have questions. There are specific groups that meet throughout the year to ask the questions and search for the answers that will strengthen our love with God.

LOVE OTHERS
Loving Others is responding to all people in love. It can manifest itself in our relationships with our family, with our co-workers and our friends. At COTC we love others by

  • Continuing to grow in love and knowledge of God
  • Meeting with one another and encouraging each other in growth of knowledge of God in a Lifegroup
  • Valuing relationships above everything else.

SERVE THE WORLD
Serving the World is extending the love of God to others through service. This is an ongoing part of our life our journey with God we:

  • Continue to grow in love and knowledge of God.
  • Continue to respond to all people in love.
  • Find our God-shaped ministry and serve in it.
  • Serve our community.
  • Serve God’s world.
  • Give freely of gifts and resources to share the love of God with others.
